Josephine Agnes Hille was born March 17, 1902 in rural Trego County to Frank A. and Elizabeth 'Lizzy' (Hartzfield) Krhut. She passed away Sunday, July 5, 2009, in the Trego Manor at WaKeeney, KS at the age of 107.

As a young girl, Josephine attended rural schools near Voda, KS.

On January 23, 1926, she was united in marriage to Henry Granville Hille in Ness City. Together, they continued Henry's father's ranching and farming business located along the Smoky Hill River in southern Trego County. Henry passed away February 7, 1988.

Josephine was a member of the Presbyterian Church, the Presbyterian Association, the Women's Kennsington Club, Tri C's Bridge Club, several other bridge clubs, the Voda Pinochle Club, and she was a lifetime member of the WaKeeney Order of the Eastern Star Margaret Chapter #249, and the WaKeeney American Legion Moore Post #197 Auxiliary.

During her spare time, Josephine enjoyed playing cards, and working crossword puzzles. When time permitted, her hands were always busy crocheting and knitting. In earlier years, she loved tending her gardens as long as her health would allow.

She leaves to mourn her passing, a son, Charles G. Hille and wife, Darlene; six grandchildren, David Hille, Dana R. Hille and wife Dana M., Darla Schroeder and husband, Tom, Dee Ann Rademacher and husband, David, Andrew Bryan and wife, Ann, Barbara Bryan; ten great-grandchildren, Suzanne Cadoret and husband, Willy, Brandon Hille and wife, Ashley, Brett Hille and wife, Sarah, Kyanne, Sheridan, and Jackson Schroeder, Nolan, Garrett, and Mason Rademacher, Josephine Bryan; and three great-great-grandchildren, Will and Maxwell Cadoret, and Madigan Hille.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Henry; a daughter, Elizabeth Catherine Bryan; three brothers, Walter, Albert, and Lawrence Krhut; and a sister, Bessie Mussemann.

Services for Josephine will be held Thursday, July 9, 2009 at 10:00 AM in the Presbyterian Church at WaKeeney with Pastor Nancy Glasgow officiating. Interment is in the WaKeeney City Cemetery.
