Alden Wallace Lynd was born on a farm in Trego County, Kansas to Hilda and William Lynd on May 30, 1920. Alden went to a county grade school and graduated from Trego High School in WaKeeney, Kansas in 1940.
He helped on his folks farm and drove his sisters and brothers· to school. ~ 1942 Alden went into the Air Force during World War II. His mission of service was. m the ordinance branch loading 500 lb. bombs. He served in Italy and North Africa. Alden was a lifetime member of VFW Post #8957.
Alden met and married his wife, Pat, when he came to Idaho Springs. They were married February 8, 1952 in Denver, Colorado. To this union two sons were born. Kelly Gene Lynd and Daniel Lee Lynd.
Alden is survived by his wife Pat, son Kelly and wife Debra; a sister Neva Butcher; brothers Marvin Lynd, Ronald Lynd, Delmer Lynd. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Michael Lynd and wife Karri, , April Lynd, Christopher James Lynd and girlfriend Leilani Flores and Kristine Lynd; and many nieces, nephews and, cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Daniel and wife Kim, one sister, Twila, and one brother Raymond.
Alden went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on December 17, 2008.
