Hermina 'Minnie' Rohn was born August 21, 1911 in rural Trego County, KS, to Johann Ludwig and Maria Magdalena (Dietz) Dietz. She passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2009 in the Trego Manor at WaKeeney at the age of 97. She attended Excelsior and Wilcox country schools in Trego County.

On October 30, 1930, Minnie was united in marriage to Emanuel Rohn in the Zion Lutheran Church at Trego Center. When Minnie and Emanuel moved from the farm, she began working at the Travel Lodge. Emanuel passed away April 4, 1973. Thanksgiving was her favorite holiday because the family was altogether.

Survivors include three sons, Marvin, Robert, James and wife, Kathy; a daughter, Rosetta Deines and husband; five grandchildren, Lance Deines and wife, Janine, Jana Abbott and husband, Bryce, Ryan Rohn and wife, Sarah, Deana Rohn, and Jamie Rohn; five great-grandchildren, Mallory and Spencer Deines, Logan and Reid Abbott, and Megan Guadalajara.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Emanuel; a daughter-in-law, Lou Ann Rohn; two brothers, Henry and Daniel Dietz; and three sisters, Mary Deines, Lydia Berschauer, and Bertha Broomfield.

Services for Minnie were held Monday, June 15, 2009 in Bethlehem Lutheran Church with Pastor Randy Gibbs officiating. Interment is in WaKeeney City Cemetery.
