Thyra L. (REEDER) SCHNEIDER

Thyra L. Schneider was born March 1, 1939 on the family farm in Sheridan County, Kansas & was of Cecil & Emma (Sitz) Reeder. She passed away March 24, 1994 at the Trego County-Lemke Memorial Hospital, WaKeeney, Kansas at the age of 55 years, 23 days. At the age of five Thyra moved to with her parents, to Trego County, where she lived most of her life. She attended Trego Community High School at WaKeeney. On September 1, 1956 Thyra was united in marriage with Norman Schneider at the United Methodist Church in WaKeeney. He survives of the home. Thyra spent her life as a loving & devoted mother & homemaker. She also worked with her husband on the family farm & dairy. Her personal interest included a love for animals which also included the birds. She loved to be outside tending her flowers &vegetable gardens working the dirt & watching it grow. She enjoyed doing needlework & quilting & also exhibited her talent in sewing always making clothing for her grandchildren. Other survivors include her parents; two sons, Tim & wife, Debbie, two daughters; LaNette Steckline & her husband, Darryl, Tamera Schneider, Two brothers, Daryl Reeder & wife, Janice, Melvin Reeder & wife, Glennie, a sister, Shirley Erbert, & husband, Rudy, & nine grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Randy, in 1980, & two brothers, Carl &Myron Reeder. Funeral services were March 26, 1994 at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in WaKeeney, burial was in the WaKeeney City Cemetery. Submitted by Gayle M. Garrett
