My grandparents Elam Sabinas BRYAN &
Martha "Mattie" Marshall ASBURY are
on the 1930 census for Jackson,
Anderson Co., KS. They were on the
1920 census for Eden, Payne Co., OK
and the last transaction Payne Co.
has for them is 09 Feb 1920, so I do
not know when they removed to KS and
I have photos of them with my Mom &
Dad and brother John Alan BRYAN when
he was just a baby (b. 13 Oct. 1931;
d. 31 Mar 2006) and the photos were taken on a farm which may have been closer to Richmond (but still in
Anderson Co.) as Grandma shopped in
Richmond and went to church there.
Would appreciate it very much if
someone could locate deed or lease
records, church records or Eastern
Star records as Grandma belonged to
the Methodist or Baptist Church and
the Eastern Star. Grandpa d. in 1950
in Richmond; Grandma sold her house
in Richmond and moved to Garnett to
be near her son Horace (not sure of
the date she moved to Garnett) and
she d. in 1957. Both Elam S. and
Mattie are buried in City Cemetery in
Garnett, as well as Uncle Horace and
Aunt Marge. Appreciate any info re:
their lives in Anderson Co. THANK
