George D. Vandevanter was born about 1853 Iowa. He died on 14 Aug 1886 in MO. He married Edith Estella Hubbard on 12 Nov 1881 in Independence, Montgomery, KS.

George D. Vandevanter father is unknown, but his mother's name is Mary (maiden name not known) b. abt.1836 in probably Kentucky or Virginia. She had three children. George D. (mentioned above), Louisa (Vandevanter) Buck born about 1855 in Iowa, and William B. Vandevanter b. 1859 in Iowa. (Married Laura Lillie)

In 1860 Mary and her children moved to Greenwood county. She had just re-married to a William Maloney (b. 1832 in New York) in 1860. They had a child- Cora Maloney b. Feb 1865 in Kansas.

Mary died in prob 1869 and Cora died in 1880. William H. Maloney moved to Indepence, Montgomery County, Kansas and opened a Livery business. He settled there and died there. He might be related to an Elizabeth Duncan who lived there and probably an H.A. Miller. William H. Maloney died of apoplexy on October 31, 1898
