Looking for information on the above family name. My g-g-grandfather JOHN VanALSTYNE may have moved from Channahon, IL (near Joliet) to Russell County around 1880. He was married to MARTHA HARDY and had a daughter MARY ZYLPHIA VanALSTYNE. It's not clear whether his father, BURK, went to KS or died in IL. Just noted from the 1880 Mortality Index that a DAVID VANALSTINE died at age 54, and that may have been Burk's brother. Thanks in advance!
