I have conflicting dates for the death of Allen F McCaslin who was living in Topeka, Shawnee, Kansas with his wife Mary R (Alexander) McCaslin and family after about 1866. One of the Alexander Family Bible records gives his death date as 6 Feb 1875, but another record says 8 Feb 1984 and I recently found him in the 1880 census (with his name transcribed as MCLEASLIN) so the latter is more probable. Is it possible to check the record with the county seat of Shawnee? And is the county seat Topeka?
