I'm inquiring on any info re: the HACKE family. I believe Christopher H. HACKE (B. 5-10-1850 KY--4-20-1914 Nevada, Vernon Co, MO) was my gr-gr-grandfather. My gr-grandmother, Florence Edith HACKE (b. 9-23-1880 TX--3-20-1954 Marengo, Iowa Co, IA), I believe was his daughter. According to her obituary in 1954, she was born in Texas (doesn't state where), her mother died in 1882 when she was two (Lucy Clara Clay HACKE was buried in Grayson Co, TX.-the only HACKE in TX that would fit in the equation) She was sent to live with relatives in Wichita, and Christopher H. HACKE remarried Aug 22, 1889 to Martha Kitzmiller Jones in. Christopher lived in Sedgwick Co, KS, I believe, from the time he moved from Denison, Grayson Co, TX after his wife died to somewhere in between 1900-1910 where he went to live with a daughter in Nevada, Vernon Co, MO, Nettie May HACKE Huston (b. 12-6-1881 TX--Sept 1951 Vernon Co, MO), who was a daughter also from his first marriage, and Florence's sister.

There are probate records in Sedgwick County in 1882 (would have been immediately after Lucy died) for a Flora Etta and Nettie May Hacke, which again would fit the equation (however, the name Flora Etta makes me think that her name was either misspelled or was changed when she was "adopted" out. I have not gotten these records yet.)

In 1900 Florence HACKE was in Piatt Co, IL as a housekeeper. This is where she met and married my gr-grandfather, Oscar A. RINEHART 8-15-1901.

I am looking for anyone who may be researching this family line or anyone who will be able to do some lookups for me that would verify Florence's father as Christopher. I have no extra funds at this time to get copies of the probate record in 1882 or any other marriage or death records re: Florence. I have census records, Florence's obituary (which was missprinted to state that her parents were Oscar and Florence HACKE--that was her and her husband's name, not her parents) and have located some info on this site re: the children of Christopher and Martha Jones HACKE. Since the 1890 census was destroyed, it was difficult to see if Florence and Nettie were living together with another family member and who they were.
