I am trying to locate information about my gg grandmother, Sarah Johnson, (b. 1826 NY) who married Jacob or J B Swasey in Clark Co. MO in 1852. They moved to Bourbon Co., KS between 1860-1862. They are listed in Freedom Twnship, Bourbon Co, KS in the 1870 census, but by 1880 Jacob appears to have a new wife, Sydney, and two children by her. Jacob and Sarah's last child was born in Bourbon Co. in Jan 1871. This child was named Sarah Jane. First child with Sydney is born Dec 1874. So Sarah likely died sometime between 1871 and 1874. I am looking for information about Sarah Johnson's death, burial site, or family.Jacob died much later and is buried out west in a Swasey family plot. Does anyone know the names of the cemeteries in Freedom Twnship, Bourbon Co. Ks where Sarah might be buried? Any information will greatly appreciated. Please email at nancy.greenwood@insightbb.com.
