Robert O. Johnson died in Jan. 1862 while in the hospital in Lawrence, KS. He enlisted in the Company H, 8th Regiment Volunteers on 11-14-1861 in Lawrence & passed away less than two months later of the measles. I am trying to find where he is buried, it is not mentioned in his Civil War pension file. Did the hospital have a cemetery? If so, are there any records left? Any hints where I can search? I have had a volunteer lookup in Shawnee Co., where he was living when he enlisted & where his family was when they tried to file for his pension but no luck.
