Does anyone have information about The Showalters who were in Jewel county and / or Davis', Smith county in the late 1800's and early 1900.I have information about my grand parents who were married at Smith Center on April 6 1893. They were Frank F. (Freeman) Davis Smith County, White Roc township and Julia (Jean)Showalter of Salem Jewel County. They had 3 children, William Orren(Doc),Oscar(Slim) and Esther Ellen. Parents of Frank were John and Mary Davis. Julia was daughter of Thomas and Mellissa Showalter.I have considerable information about Showalters but very little about Frank Davis as he passed away when my mother Esther Ellen was only less than 2 years old. Mother said most of the Davis Family is buried in Smith County but I have not been able to Locate them. She also said she did not know how many children John and Mary had. She had only heard her mother of speak of 3 a son John, Frank and a sister who she could not remember when she wrote her memoirs at age 80. Only that she married a Haun. Julia took the small children and went to Okla after Frank passed away (in or around 1900.) there to be with her Showalter family who had gone there for the government settlement promise of free land. All of the aforementioned persons are no longer living. I am researching for my own information and that of my daughters. Any information would be appreciated if you have any census records or cemetery record showing these names. Thank you in advance as I would be indebted to any one who can help.
