I would like to submit my Great Grandfather, John Simar and his wife Rachel Simar, to the list of early settlers in Jewell County Kansas, they took a homestead on Ash Creek in about 1871 or 1872, both died in 1883, and are burried in Amnity Cemetery, just south-west of his homestead.

Burton John Simar, my Grandfather, was born on this homestead in 1873, and died in Todd County Minnesota in 1938, burried just east of Eagle Bend Minnesota.
