Gilbert came from VIRGIL, Niagara Township, Lincoln
County, Ontario, Canada with his brother, John COOPER to
homestead land in Hackberry Township, Labette, Kansas.

Did John COOPER stay and marry?

It looks like Gilbert was in Iowa before Kansas as he
married Anna V. FLUKE on September 10, 1872 in Scott
County, Iowa.
