WOOD AND SINFIELD FAMILY - CENTER TOWNSHIP RUSSELL COUNTY

Hi there - Can anyone help me?

I have discovered that my 4xgreat grandmother Matilda Wood nee Mitchell born c1808 England and some of her children emigrated to New York in 1872. By 1880 they appear in the census for Center Russell as follows.

John Wood 27 farmer Eng
Mary Wood 40 sister Eng
Matilda Wood 72 mother Eng
Henry Wood 5 nephew New York
Frederick Slater 23 labourer Eng (this is Matilda's grandson)

One of her married daughters Elizabeth Sinfield and family are in Buffalo in 1880 but by 1900 Elizabeth seems to have died and her husband and children are also living in Center Russell where they stayed at least until the 1920 census.

This is the first of my family that has ventured overseas and I am unfamiliar with researching in the USA. I would be very grateful if somebody could give me advice on how to find a death registration or burial for my Matilda Wood - she doesnt appear to be on the 1890 census.

Also, if anyone has a connection to this family I have traced them up until their departure from England in 1872 so I may have some useful information to share.
