I am looking for any information on the Laughlin, Rice, Poole, Willoughby and Richie families from Coyville and New Albany. I found Jane and JM Laughlin on 1870 census. Jane is Melissa Jane Poole b. 4-1828 McDonough, ILL; d. Dec. 21, 1908 and is supposed to be buried in Jackson Cemetery, New Albany. Jane was first married to James S. Laughlin (1826-1854). He was the father of my ggg grandfather James Edward Laughlin. JM was James S’s cousin. She married him after James S died. JM (James Ms parents are Joseph and Elizabeth Laughlin). James Edward married a Dora Rice and then Nancy Willoughby in 1900 in New Albany. Nancy was the mother of Alta Mae Richie who marred JE's son Charles Marvin Laughlin. They were also supposed to have married in 1900 in New Albany.

Both CM Laughlin and Alta were born in New Albany, we believe. Nancy's parents were Hopkins and Malinda Rose Willoughby. Her husband was Isaac Thomas Richie listed in the Wilson Co. list of civil war vet in 1883, Coyville. JE & Nancy, Alta & Charles, Hopkins and Malinda and the Meyers came to Oregon after 1900. Jane Pool or Dora Rice or both may have been Native American, although Jane is listed as white on the census. Dora is also supposed to be buried in the Jackson Cemetery. Any information on these families or their ancestors would be appreciated
