My ancestor, Joel William Bitner and family were in Labette County, Kansas during the 1880 census. Joel and family later moved on to Texas.

Joel's father, Nicholas Bitner, was with him during the 1880 census. It is said that Nicholas died while in Kansas. Also, Joel and Martha lost 2 children to death while in Kansas.

I am hoping that someone in Labette County can do a cemetery lookup for any Bitners who might be buried there.
