Hi, I'm not sure how this site works, but I'm at a stand-still trying to find my grandmother. She was born Clara White in 1879 in Kansas. My problem is I found two Clara Whites in the 1880 census, both from Jewell County, both two years old at the time. One was living in Browns Creek and one in Ionia. I thought I could figure it out by where her father was listed as being born--but both men, Charles in Ionia and Albert J. in Browns Creek were both born in Ohio.

She married John M. Hewitt about 1907 and it was probably a double wedding with her sister. Where or who would I write to find a marriage certificate? I'm hoping that would have her sister's name (Hester if she was from Ionia, or Celia if she was from Browns Creek.) Anybody ever hear of the White girls? My dad died in 1982 but I remember he said his mom worked on a newspaper before she got married. They lived in Washington County in 1920. I sure hope someone has an idea of where I should look next. Thank you. Suzanna
