The marriage records are held by the County Clerk for each county. At this link you will find a phone number and address to contact the clerk

http://skyways.lib.ks.us/counties/JW/index.html

Marriage certificates of the time have the bride's name and age, the groom's name and age, the official performing the ceremony name and signature and that's about it. The record also may have their places of residence, either the city or town or just the county (depends on the clerk). Get all four certificates for the dates. Then you could try to find marriage announcements in the newspaper closest to where they lived, or the county seat newspaper.

Newspaper microfilms are available from the Kansas State historical Society, by interlibrary loan to your local library or Family History Center.

You can find the newspaper microfilms at this link

My approach would be to try and find death dates and burial information on both men and their wives. If they died after 1920, see if you can find an obituary. Obituaries typically lists survivors, so if one lists Clara Hewitt(?) in Washington County, then you have two generations...

For the cemetery lookups, visit this link

and then either the link to Mankato Library or the Genealogy Society. either or both may also have obituary indices which will help with lookups, or their volunteers may do it for a small fee. I would ask the library to do the cemetery search.

Have you been able to find or check your grandmother's obituary, on the chance it names her parents?

Hope this gives you a few ideas on where to look.

Good Luck
