This may be the 2nd time that I have posted a Query asking if any of your ancestors ever mentioned a family living in Pittsburg around the turn of the century. The father was a coal miner. There were 4 chidren, ranging in birth from 1881-1893. the mother, Louisa Alice Vernon died in 1899
and the father, Davis Arthur Vernon died in 1903. The maternal grandmother, Julia A. Traylor, from Montgomery County, IL came to Pittsburg and was appointed legal guardian of the minor children, Ernest Leon Vernon and Harold Thomas Vernon. The 2 older sisters were grown when the parents died. Their names were Eva and Essie. The family lived at

I would like to know why the parents died, would like to have pictures, stories, good or bad. Ernest was my dad. He was in his 50s when I was born. He never mentioned his childhood. I am longing to know. ernestine folks
