In 1890 Bell WISE [Margaret Isabelle Strahan Wise] died from injuries sustained in a prairie fire near Americus while trying to save her infant son, who subsequently died after her. She and her two infants are buried in the Americus Cemetery, and I believe her husband Daniel P. Wise was buried there, also. I believe he remarried and may have had children. His father was George Wise, and his mother was Mary Sharrofatatim. "Bell" was 37 at the time of her death. She was married in Randolph Co., Illinois in 1885, where her parents lived and where she had been born to Blair Strahan and Mary Ann B. McCullough.

As family historian of Bell's family I would like to contact descendants of that WISE family to inquire whether anyone might know what happened to the Strahan family Bible, which as oldest daughter she may have had in her possession. [It may be lost to the same prairie fire that took her life.] I also wonder if anyone has any photos of her or her husband or her infants.
