Hi - I was raised in Decatur County (1954 - 1976)but never heard anything about the Orphan Trains. You might want to contact the Last Indian Raid Museum in Oberlin, KS. The curator is a former librarian and she has done an excellent job of keeping the old newspapers from Decatur County. She assisted me with Obits of my great grandparents. Jody Betts at The Oberlin Herald, does a article for the paper each week called "The Events of Yesteryear". She goes back into the archives and picks out events that happened in Decatur County, over 125 years ago. She is from the Dresden area so has a lot of knowledge about the area. I don't live in the area any longer but do get the newspaper. I've enjoyed finding tidbits about my family in this section of the paper. Hope this might give you some resources for your search. - Kay
