My grandparents lived somewhere in Kansas between 1911 and 1920. I suspect it may have in the Baxter Springs area but not sure. Family lore says they lived in a sod house on the prairie where the wind blew constantly. Would that apply to Cherokee County or would they have been further west? Were there any Kentucky settlements nearby?

Names were James Robert Carner and wife Pearl Carner, from Caldwell County, Ky. While living in Kansas they had a son named Linford Iman Carner who died and was buried there as a small child. I am searching for any information on their location or burial for the child. Thank You.
