You might want to visit this link and contact the Topeka and Shawnee County Library. Look at the link titled Obituary Index. They may be able to find Mary's obituary (it may already be in the index, but the on line index only seems to cover from about 1990 forward).

Note that as of several years ago the cemeteries located in Topeka were not indexed. Most have been around a long time and are still active. So the county genealogy society elected not to index them when they did the rest of the cemeteries in the county.
