Mayview was a tiny community within the Brownscreek township. It was called Mayview because "you may view as far as eye can reach". I didn't see your family's name on the 1884 atlas for the area though. Mayview was established in 1872 (with a post office) and at one time had a store, blacksmith shop, post office, school, and church until only the church was left. The church was closed in 1962.
