Looking for any further information regarding Charles Thomas Carpenter and wife
Louisa M Willoughby who came with a group of
pioneers around 1875 to near Agenda to homestead. Charles' father, Amasa Green
Carpenter, and brother, Calvin, also came as
did Louisa's daughter from a previous marriage. Later they lived on a farm near
Cuba, then in the town of Agenda, then they
lived out their final years in Cuba. Their
sons were Tarlington, Ben, Amasa, Martin,
Paul, Albert, Lewellyn, and Mark. Some of
them are buried in the Willoughby Cemetery.
Louisa had been living in Columbus, Ohio
when she and Charles met and married. Other
Willoughby's came to the area around the
same time (William Henry Willoughby for
instance) and I wonder if he and Louisa were
related and if perhaps they were in the same
wagon train coming to Kansas? I have more
information I could share. Any piece of
data you may have would be important to me.
Thanks....Penny
