Netta Estella Jones Weld, born Ft Scott 16 Nov 1881 was orphaned ca. 1883 when mother died in childbirth. No family member knows who raised her. From 19 Dec 1878 to 23 Feb 1885 her father James Jones farmed the homestead belonging to J O and Anson Jones of Ogle County Il. The homestead, in Mitchell County, was in Section 11 Twp 6. Netta had one brother Abraham born in Cawker City; she and another brother James Ellsworth were born in Ft Scott. Perhaps James J. hauled freight between Beloit and Ft Scott; for some reason there was travel back and forth. Netta and her daughters were married in Baptist Churches suggesting that a minister of that church may have been involved as foster parents. Any clues?
