John Pigg Chinn (b: Harrison Co. KY) entered Barber Co. in 1879 and settled on a farm southwest of Coats. His wife was Joanna Bergen (b: Ky), and they had four sons (all born in Vinton Iowa), Isaac, John Thomas, Garret, and Edward Dunning. My gr grandfather Edward married Stella Jeffers (b: MO 1870)daughter of Abe (b:Preston Co. WV) and Louise (Terrel)(b:KY). Stella's mother died when she was young and she lived with the Edward Taylor family in Nodaway Co. Mo until 1885 when she joined her father in Barber CO. Her sister, Dora Jeffers, lived with the Dennis and Kate Jeffers (brother to Abe) in Taylor Co. Iowa until 1888, when she joined her sister and father. My grandfather Athel (b: Coats) the oldest son of Ed and Stella Chinn, married Vina Mae Bobbitt (b:Cullison), daughter of Perry (B: ILL) and Zepha Mae (Miner)(b: Jackson MI). Perry Bobbitt was the son of Wiley Madison Bobbitt and Sarah Pyle. Zepha Mae was the daughter of Benjamin Miner (b:NY) and Emily Jones. Would like to hear from anyone with these surnames.
