Have you searched the local newspapers from that time period? They are micro-filmed and available for interlibrary loan from the Kansas State Historical Society.

These directions were sent to someone else. You will have to replace the names of the cities with the ones you are interested in. If there were no papers listed for South Mound in 1946, try looking in some of the near by towns.

Check out the Kansas State Historical Society at http://www.kshs.org ,
click the link to Research and Collections. Scroll down the page till you
find TYPES OF COLLECTIONS and click on the "NEWSPAPERS" link. Once there,
check out the interlibrary loan policies. Then scroll down the page to the
"Oak Hill - Osborne City" link and click on it. Then scroll down to "Olathe"
then find the paper under Olathe. Get the microfilm numbers of the films you
want and have your librarian order them.

While on the Research and Collections page, you might want to visit the
various links under "USING OUR COLLECTION" also.

Your library will need a 35mm film reader to view the films.

Hope this helps
