Joseph L. Crawford & his wife Amy Columbia first came to Chase County in 1862 and bought 160 acres on the Cottonwood River in the Cottonwood Township. Joseph L. Crawford & his first wife Amy Columbia & his second wife Mary Elizabeth Watson are buried in the Clement Cemetery. Joseph L. Crawford was born in Huron County Ohio, May 3, 1825. I am hoping some one in Chase or Marion County knows who his parents were. I belive his parents were John & Martha Crawford or Joseph & Elizabeth Crawford. They had 8 children. 1. Emma Adeline 2.
