According to my Sources David Franklin Rittenhouse died in Doniphan County KS on September 25, 1899. His Wife Mary Ann Merchant died there on April 30, 1902. His son Noah Rittenhouse married Cassandra Ware on October 27, 1870 in Doniphan County KS. And Joshua Rittenhouse married Emily Shireley on April 13, 1876 in Doniphan County KS. His daughter Elizabeth was married to Frederick Gates on January 11, 1863 over in St Joseph MO. Mary Frances Rittenhouse married John Foster Ward on December 20, 1874 and Josephine Rittenhouse married C. L. Smith on July 29, 1875. Moses Rittenhouse married Sarah Ellen Noble on August 24, 1884. The best I can figure is that David and the rest of his family moved to Kansas right after the Civil War. If any one has any Info on the Above persons Please contact me at snevets@execpc.com
