In 1866, my g-grandfather Isaac Smith Dunkel married Elizabeth Boswell in Greenwood County. In the 1870 census, it showed that Elizabeth had five children by a previous marriage to Creed T. Boswell, who who evidently died between 1860 and 1865, along with two other children as they were in the 1860 census but not the 1865 state census. In 1870, Elizabeth and Isaac had a 2 year old named Jason E. Dunkel. In his Civil War pension papers, Isaac said that Elizabeth died in Madison in 1873 and in 1877, he returned to Ohio. He later married and settled in Missouri. It appears that all but two of the Boswell children had died, as notices were in the paper regarding probate. Marshal W. and James W. Boswell were still living, as was Jason (Dunkel). Marshal married Eleanor Butler in 1870. Marshal was living in Utah in 1880 with Jason "Boswell" listed as brother. I'm looking for anyone who might help me with locating more on Marshal, Jason (Dunkel), and James.
