The daily newspapers for that time period are available on microfilm for interlibrary loan. The microfilms can be obtained from the Kansas State Historical Society.

http://www.kshs.org is the home page, click on the link for "Research and Collections" then click on the link for "Newspapers" (scroll down the page a bit). Now you are at a search page, enter the city, county and time frame. I searched 1973 to 1975 time frame and got 150 films listed. The bulk of the films are the two daily papers, with two weeks per film. Get the microfilm numbers and have your librarian order the films.
