My ggg-grandfather William Allen Porter b. 1807 in Long Island, NY, married Molly Melissa Butts about 1831. They traveled to KS in wagon train which included families Bell, O'Brien, Rogers and Stanback and settled in Doniphan Co. around 1868-9 Family history recalls WA was mayor and Postmaster of Elwood, KS, also RR worker and grocer.. They had 8 children of which some scattered and some remained in KS and St. Joseph, MO. Looking for any information on WA Porter especially on his parents.
