I'm looking for information about my great grandparents, Emil J. ZAPPE and Minna Augusta GUENTHER. Their son Willy Rudolph ZAPPE (my grandfather) was born 19 Nov 1892 and was baptized at St. Pauls Lutheran in Linn on 18 Jan 1894. I'm not sure how long they lived in the Linn vicinity, because I've been unable to locate birth/baptism information on their second son Fritz ZAPPE born 26 Jan 1901. Minna Augusta Guenther ZAPPE died 12 Apr 1909 and is buried across the border at Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetary in Plymouth, NE. However, the ultimate whereabouts of Emil J. ZAPPE is unknown. I'm assuming he was born abt 1860's in Germany, and may have returned there following his wife's death. I'd appreciate any information or help.

Also, I have records from St. Pauls Lutheran in Linn about other ZAPPEs:

Otto ZAPPE of St. Louis, MO donated altar to church
Friedrich Karl ZAPPE, b 28 Dec 1833 in Germany; d 17 Mar 1912 in Linn
Mrs. Augusta ZAPPE, b 23 Apr 1832 in Germany; d 14 Jan 1916 in Linn
Wm. ZAPPE was charter member of St. Pauls abt 1885
Wilhelm ZAPPE married Minna RAMDOHR 22 Dec 1892
Martha ZAPPE , b 1 Oct 1893 (parents were Wilhelm & Minna Ramdohr ZAPPE), baptized 25 Dec 1893, confirmed 12 Apr 1908, m 12 May 1915 to Fred William PFEIFFER

Any further information on the connections between these ZAPPEs and their descendents would really be helpful, as I am also researching the ZAPPE surname in general.

Many thanks to Sue Meyerhoff, secretary at Zion Lutheran in Linn, and Sylvia Mai, member of St. Pauls Lutheran in Linn, for the information received to date!
