Looking for any information on the Bates family who may have resided in Blue Rapids during at least the early 1890's. Jessie C. Bates, my great-grandmother, married Orestes G. Bailey in Belleville on July 10, 1893.
Jessie listed her home as Blue Rapids.
Jessie's parents were William C. Bates and Henrietta Nelson Bates and a brother, Charles Edgar Bates, who may also have lived in Blue Rapids.
