We have pictures from a possible distant cousin of ours. She and I believe that her great-grandmother Maria/Mary Schickel Berkert (the older lady in the portrait from Fort Madison and the mother of the group picture)is sister to our great-grandmother Eleanora Schickel Blender, Grandma Marion Teresa Blender-Truan's mom. She also has a picture of her grandfather George taken by a photographer in Hays, KS. We believe further proof of the connection. Grandma Truan and family lived in WaKeeney.
