John MARSANDT dit St Pierre and wife, Monique CHOQUIN, were listed as very early settlers of Bloom Twp, Clay Co, and were referred to as some of the oldest living residents in Clay Co, in a book written around 1890. Their daughter, Victoria Marie MARSANDT dit St Pierre married Gilbert PERRAULT.

The Perraults, Marsandts, Choquins and many other French Canadian families left St Anne Parish, Quebec, Canada in 1853, moving to St Anne, Kankakee Co, IL. Many came to Clay Co, KS, between 1870 and 1885. Gilbert Perrault and Victoria settled in Bloom Twp, Clay Co, and farmed 160 acres. Their children surviving to adulthood were John, Thomas, Joseph, George, Zebediah, Charles, Odie, Alexine, Delphine, and Jean Baptiste Perrault b May 2, 1865 in IL, and married in Aug 1885, in Clay Co, to Ida Mae Ryan, daughter of Thomas Gunn Ryan and Amanda Josephine Bloss.

I'm very interested in finding other descendants of these families. I would also love to get together with descendants of other members of this group of French Canadian immigrants. Have been told that other families include CHARTIER and BRECHARD. Thanks :)
