All the JONES' went west with family from Ohio, then Indiana by wagon train.

Conrad JONES married late in life, in c1885, to a widow with a daughter, her name was Helena THOMAS and her daughter was Bessie THOMAS. Helena and Conrad had three more children besides Bessie:
Alton 1886
Carl W. 1890
Earl 1891
Conrad died when Earl was only 12 in 1903 somewhere near Burden, KS.

J.H.Lewis (Lew) JONES was born in 1840 in OH. He died in Mersnick, OK. He married Mary GATES, sister of Jim and Will GATES. They had no children, but raised Della Brofft (niece) in Oklahoma after living in Cowley county for many years.

Henry W. JONES apparently returned from KS to OH to marry Martha A. JENNINGS c1875. They had Melsena Alice, Cora Mertle, George W., Newton Thomas, Gracie Lenora, Maxine May, Gertrude, and Harry W. JONES in the Chillicothe and Columbus, OH area.

John F. JONES b 1847 in Chillicothe, OH is lost in the family, there appears to be no trace of him.

Some Letters from Kansas:
Cambridge, March 10, 1882 by Lewis JONES.
Conrad is here in Kansas yet - he works at the carpenter trade - he makes lots of money - he has deeded himself a quarter section of land here - he talks of building himself a fine stone house on it this spring.
Labette, December 1, 1878 by Henry BROFFT
Will Gates had 160 acres but gave 80 to his father - he intends to build himself a house as soon as he will get time. Jim (Jim Gates who married Laura Johns) has rented a house down on Grouse Creek and is doing odd jobs that he can get. Conrad (Jones) is staying with them he having put Cony off to a place. Mary and he do not stand on very good terms with each other, he having behaved so badly on the road that they had a falling out. (Henry Brofft)

Note: Henry BROFFT married Amanda GATES, youngest sister of Jim (James) GATES (who married Laura JONES).
