I just found out today that my great-grandfather, Edward Merwin Shoemaker, was born in Osborne, Osborne County, Kansas on April 29, 1880. His father was Lewis W. Shoemaker; his mother was Mary D. Plaster. Edward married Ona Chappell, I believe in Missouri.

Edward had his own business, though I don't know what it was, until October 1943; I don't know if this business was begun in Kansas, or in Missouri, to where he eventually moved.

I would love to hear from any other Shoemakers in the area, or from anyone whose family may have known of this Shoemaker family.
