Alma M. Townsend

DOWNS -- Alma M. Townsend, 91, Downs, died Sunday, June 10, 2001, at Downs Nursing Center.

Mrs. Townsend was born Alma M. Townsend on March 22, 1910, at Laird, Colo., and was a former resident of Decatur, Norton and Phillips counties and Osborne. She farmed with her husband, was a member of the Methodist Church and a lifetime member of Order of the Eastern Star Bethlehem Chapter 89, Almena.

Her husband, Dale M., died in 1990.

Survivors include two sons, Dale Jr. of Norton and Duane of Council Bluffs, Iowa; a sister, Thelma Kinser of Uba City, Calif.; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Enfield Funeral Home, Norton, Jeff Nielsen officiating. Burial will be in Norton Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Alma Townsend Memorial Fund.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
