Peggy,

My grandmother grew up in Holton - went to high school there. She to married a Keller, but I don't believe the two Keller's are related unless it is way back. I contacted her and this is what she had to say:

"I have a book HOLTON HIGH SCHOOL ALUMNA 1881-1971, published in 1971. I looked up Josephine Birkett and her sister Nina. Josephine is not listed as a graduate from Holton H.S. but Nina is. Nina Birkett graduated in 1897. She is also listed under "Teachers" as Nina Birkett Keller who taught at the Colorado Grade School in Holton, KS holding a record for teaching fifty years. I remember knowing of her but did not have her for a teacher because I did not go to grade school in Holton but I did go to High School there. I believe that Nina's husband, John Keller, maybe had a harness shop in Holton. This John Keller is not related to Granddad's Keller's (Chelmer E. Keller). However, it is always possible that the Keller's near Holton were related to the Hottel/Keller line. I have never investigated that possibility. There are other Keller's in the county which were not related to ours. I do not know if they were related to John.

Hope this helps in some way.
