I am looking for my elusive great great grandparents by the name of Samuel Fielder and wife, Sarah (maiden name unknown). Samuel was born about 1840 in New York and Sarah was born about 1841 in New York.

They had the following children: Charles, Phoeba J. (or Jennie P.), William H. (my great grandfather), Mary E., Ada, Annette (or maybe Arnetta), and Edward. There are probably other siblings, but these are the only children I am aware of.

I know Samuel and Sarah Fielder moved to Macon, Michigan from New York between 1865 and 1867, as they appear in a Macon, Michigan 1870 census. Their daughter, Mary, is listed as born in Michigan, but the older children were born in Long Island and Queens, New York.

Then the Fielder family moves again. I have a picture of Samuel and Sarah Fielder; daughter Ada; and Ada's husband, A.N. Baker; standing in front of one of their homes at 17 Rural Street in Emporia, Lyon County, Kansas. The year the picture was taken is unknown, but my guess is the late 1800s or early 1900s. So, sometime after 1870 Samuel and Sarah and younger children moved to Emporia.

Ada, Annette, and Edward Fielder are not listed in the 1870 Macon, Michigan census so it's possible they could have been born in Kansas.

Obituary notices for William H. Fielder (d. Tecumseh, Michigan in 1937) and Jennie P. Fielder/Smith (d. Tecumseh, Michigan in 1946) state Ada Fielder/Baker and Annette Fielder/Martin lived in Emporia, Kansas, so I know they were still living in Emporia in 1946.

Any information on Samuel, Sarah, Ada and Annette and/or their families would be welcomed.
