Searching for info on the McWhinney families who lived in Valley Brook Twp., Osage Co. circa 1880.
My ancestor was Levi N. McWhinney and his children were: John (b. circa 1859 IL), Stephen (b. circa 1860 IL), Tirzah (b. circa 1863 IL), Angeline (b. circa 1866 IL) and Charlotte (b. Feb 1880 KS).
Levi had two brothers who also lived in the area, and their families are listed in the 1900 Valley Brook Twp. census. His brother's names were: Samuel Leroy (b. circa 1841 OH) and Francis (b. circa 1844 OH.) Both were married and had children. Francis had Martha (b. 1886 KS) and Charles (b. 1894 Missouri). Samuel Leroy's children were: Minnie (b. 1868 IL), Ella (b. 1869 Missouri), Edwin (b. 1873 KS), Julia (b. 1878 IL), Frank (b. 1880 KS), Archie (b.1884 KS), Anita (b. 1885 KS), Gertrude (b. 1887 KS), Leroy (b. 1889 KS), Mary Ann (b. KS) and Ida.
