I have checked my copies of the 1884, 1904 and 1923 Atlases of Republic County for Richland Township. I do not find a HILL with land on the plats. However, he could have owned land in the town of Cuba, itself, and would not necessarily show up on the Atlases.

All land records are at the Republic County Courthouse in Belleville, KS. They do a search and send copies to you of info they find for a small fee. Ask about the cost first. Don't hesitate to give them all the info you have, full name(s), dates in Cuba, etc.
