John Shalk b. 1850 Prussia was living in Osborne county, Winfield twp in the 1880 census. I'm trying to find out how long he lived there, when he died and where he is buried at. I would very much like to have the same information for his wife. His wife is Annie Dumrauf, Dumerauf, Dummruff b. 1856 Bavaria. Maybe you could check the index of a cemetery book you have in your possesion for these surnames listed.
I don't know when they moved to KS. I do know that Annie Dumrauf was living with a Brother-in-law in the 1870 census of McHenry Co., IL. John Schmitt was the brother in law, and they spelled Annie's last name as Tomroff.
