There is in the 1900 census for
Greenleaf, Washington, Kansas, an Alice
J. Brown, wife of Jackson Brown. Her birth
date is given as Oct 1856 in New York,
while Jackson was born in Apr 1846 in
Kentucky. Their children were named
Clinton M., Ada A., Warwick T. and
Jackson, born 1880 through 1896.

I'm looking for an Alice J. (Planck) Brown,
b 1856/57 in Lewis County, NY, dtr. of
Josiah and Catherine Planck. Alice's
Bible, given to her in 1870 by her father,
was found in the possessions of our
Swan family in Topeka in the 1950's. Our
connection to the Brown surname is
through our gr-gr-grandparents Hamilton
and Mary Brown of NYC whose daughter
Jane married James Swan in 1857.

See
http://home.att.net/~paulrswan/Planck/Alic
e_J_Planck.html for details.

If anyone knows anything more about
Jackson Brown and his wife, I would be
very grateful if they would contact me by
e-mail, paulrswan@att.net.
