I have traced some of my family from Ohio to Clay County, Kansas in Highland Township. He is on the census there in 1900, 1910, and 1920. The name William D. HETHERINGTON. He was a farmer. I was led to Kansas by an obituary for his mother in 1920 in a paper in Ohio stating that she died in Clay Center at her daughters (Florence) home. But the census showed her Mary E. HETHERINGTON living with her son in 1910 and 1920.

Are there any cemetery books or a source for marriages, deaths, etc. in Clay county.? Does anyone have suggestions as to how I can find out more about the HETHERINGTON family. He had 4 children listed on the census.
