I would love to make contact with Carpenter relatives from Scott County, Kansas. I am related to this family through my great grandfather, James Elizar Carpenter who homesteaded in Douglas County, Kansas Territory in the summer of 1854. James and his wife Rebecca had the following children: Charles b. 1853, James b. 1855, Flora b. 1857, William b. 1861, Lewis b. 1867, Ella b. 1869, and John b. 1872.
Charles Carpenter moved to Scott County and also had a son and grandson named Charles. Their are a few Carpenters buried in Scott County, KS. Charles W.
