Interested in corresponding with anyone that can provide information on Veterans Home that was in existence around 1900-1910. Great-grandparents James Foster Blackman and Mary Adeline Hunter apparently retired and died there; are buried in the adjoining cemetery. Any record of when/why people went there? Believe I also still have a cousin residing in the area by the last name of Quint, who would also be a descendant of the same Blackman's. Have much information to share.
